Canopy for a theater
Every Saturday and Sunday when is market day in Antwerp, you can busy rush to the theater space into activity. Saturday, dealers offer everything for a delicious dinner, Sunday flea market, the market has more character. Wind and weather, visitors can do their shopping in peace, for the huge space is covered by a huge roof.
The Milanese architects of Studio Associato Secchi-Vigano were planning for this canopy roof to offset the height difference between the street and the theater building. The lamellar structure of the roof allows plenty of light through the day and at night the place set spotlights an impressive scene. The theater space is also a "modern garden" - a green space that invites you to linger.
