The Palm Garden, a botanical garden in the center of Frankfurt, is worth a visit any time of day. Most fascinating it is, when the dusk begins and the bright light is displaced slowly from the darkness. Then numerous visible and invisible elements of lighting plants, buildings and statues set excitingly staged.
This year, the subtle evening lighting of the palm grove is supplemented by temporary artistic light installations. As part of the light festival Luminale show of 11 to 16 April 2010 Students of the HFG Offenbach light experiments - interactive installations that stimulate the eyes and ears. Plant-light devices, light and sound instruments, a field from bioluminescent microorganisms that are stimulated by the movement of passers-by to light, portable "light bag" for Selbstaufladen or the Rose Garden as illuminated habitat are just some examples of the light experiments.
The Palm Garden is one of the main locations of this year's Lumen. The light festival takes place alongside the fair Light + Building held for the fifth time in Frankfurt and surroundings.
