The museum is located on a double Liaunig steep plateau. A precise incision into the terrain opens up new relationships with the environment. Nestling in the plateau is the Museum as a sculpture in the landscape. From the elongated museum building is only a small portion visible. The plateau cut into the museum body breaks through a densely wooded embankment on one side and gives a view of the Drava river 70 meters below. On the side of the road, the building rises far beyond a steep slope, making the museum for visitors arriving visible.
The core of the complex is the 160-meter exhibition hall with natural daylight and its associated terraces. The fully 13 meters wide and seven meters high space is covered with sheet trays from the industrial, translucent panels provide natural light illumination. The hall is playable with mobile exhibition walls.
