In three areas of the almost 900 years Hofkeller considerable improvement were made. Wine shop and Treasury are at the heart of the actual sale. The wine cellar at the transition to the treasury, is characterized by a staged with light glass shrine, in which the particular age groups are presented as the most valuable of the Würzburg Hofkeller. The oldest wines are from 1874.
The long corridor from the 1960s, connecting the north and south wing of the Hofkeller is presented as a timeline. In the gradient from green to burgundy wine leaf stations of the nearly 900-year history of the State Hofkeller be interpreted graphically. People, events, and the wine are of course subject. sprayed directly onto the concrete wall and striking, the heights and depths of 900 years of wine from the perspective of Dr. Bassermann-Jordan are presented.
As the jewel of the Hofkeller and main event space is presented to the wine cellar. He serves as an impressive setting for wine tastings, readings and musical festivities for 100 people. The new architecture and interior design makes reference to modernity, without dominating the historic ambiance of the cellar. Here, store the big red drops and wait for completion - "in the Cathedral of the red wine." An almost sacred light design combined with a light axis between floor and ceiling refers to the original use of the ice-house as a refrigerator of the residence. The barrique cellar is used for wine tasting in a small exquisite frame.
