The home and studio of the clay master Martin Rauch is on a steep hillside property in the town Schlins in Vorarlberg. The monolithic block was designed by Swiss architects Bolton. Floors, ceilings, walls, plaster, tile and sink even have up to 85 percent clay, because the client wanted an ecological building, only natural materials. The excavation of the soil was sieved to 0-30 mm and with different processing techniques used in the building process again. Throughout construction, there are no films or foam gaskets, insulation materials only renewable and wind seals made of clay.
